You would need this certification if you are working in service or repairs for MVAC you need this certification. This includes leak testing or adding refrigerant as well as general repairs. If you are not working but intend to work in this space, you should pursue this certification in advance. Moreover, any professional certification that you can put on your resume can only help you. The Training Center supports personal development and growth and this program can help you.

The EPA requires this certification and can issue penalties to individuals or companies who fail to comply. There is no reason to not comply, easy to follow programs like this take the stress away from getting certified. Non-compliance can result in a company receiving fines higher than $44,000 per day for each violation. Those that report violations can receive whistleblower compensation up to $10,000.

Yes. The EPA 609 certification is a national certification. Therefore it transfers between states.

The course is completely online and built around your schedule by being self-paced. For all of our EPA 609 classes, the student can watch the videos and access the portal on any device at any time.

This training is structured to get you the EPA Section 609 MVAC Certification and not intended to improve your direct skills in the field. You will find our content is designed to meet the EPA training requirements. The goal of this program is outlined in SAE J2845 and is to provide information to technicians about safely handling refrigerants and the control of emissions during service.

EPA 608 Universal is a general purpose certification to address safe handling and recycling of refrigerants used in air conditioning systems which are stationary. The EPA 609 (MVAC) is specific for servicing refrigerant systems for motor vehicles. There are examples where the 609 does not cover air conditioner systems found on larger vehicles (specifically HCFC-22 systems). Everything is included in your $50 course fee. The full portfolio of training content is available on any device that can access the internet. You will receive the certification by mail upon passing the final exam. This includes the unlimited attempts on the final exam.

No, there is no certification renewal requirements after completing this course. However for any technicians certified before 2015 who have not been trained to service MVAC systems using HFO-1234yf, R-744, or HFC-152a may take this course to serve as a refresher course. As new alternative refrigerants are introduced into the industry, our content will be continuously updated.

You can request a replacement by emailing us at info@thetrainingcenter.com. There is no charge for a replacement or duplicate card or pass letter.

You will see your results upon completion of your final exam. Your credentials will be processed the next business day. Should you fail, you can retake the exam at a time that is convenient for you with no additional fee.

The Training Center will begin processing your credentials the next business day. Typically you will receive a digital copy of your credentials 3-4 days after your final exam and on that day your hard copy will be mailed to your address on file.
